Heavytable.com is a yummy local food blog run by James Norton. A while back I did 2 illustartions for a post about “25 things chefs hate about you.”

The concept I ended up going with was the good/bad dichotomy and flatware.

Postin’-just postin

Noticed I haven’t posted in a while. Need to update the front page too, but can’t find a hard copy of the HTML. Maybe I can pull it off the server…

Having trouble linking to your Etsy store?

A few weeks ago I added my Etsy.com store to my site.

I thought it would be easy solution to doing my own e-com, which is hard. I know hard. When I had a e-comerence shop hosted one my site, I was handcoding roll-overs and the info for many, many Paypal buttons.

Just copy the link from my store and add it. But strangely, I was wrong. I kept getting a page that said “Uh oh! No user ID was sent..”
“But it’s the link to my store!” I yelled in my head in frustration!

The solution is sub-domains. Etsy makes your username a sub-domain that redirects to your store. It has to do with PHP. My store/user name is Gwendolynart, so the link is http://gwendolynart.etsy.com redirects to my store http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5906258.

Small Steps to Gettin’ Serious ’bout Blogging! (step 2)

I know, I know, most things that come in parts start at 1. But wouldn’t step 1 be deciding to do the blog (done!) or getting it up (done!)? Maybe I’m just being strange.

So, I’ve been doing some reading on ways to get more visibility and traffic here. I know 85% of that probably involves me actually posting more. But small steps! So I registered at Technorati, like 5 years behind everybody else.
